This sponsorship enables Midwest Financial Processing to process transactions with all major networks including VISA, PLUS, MASTERCARD, CIRRUS, NYCE, Pulse, Shazam, and AFFN. As a requirement for being an ATM owner, each merchant is required to pass a background check. The background check is part of the Patriot Act. There is a small fee which is collected by American State Bank. Also required is processing agreements through Midwest Financial Processing and American State Bank.
